A rehabilitation pool inside an abandoned hospital in Ontario, Canada.

I had explored this location a few times before this visit but had completely missed this entire area of the hospital.  I have explored many vacant hospitals over the years and all of them have been very difficult to navigate.

Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire – 2017

The restaurant industry is a difficult business in which to be successful, there are far more failures than successes.  It’s a competitive market and probably oversaturated, not to mention they have to stay current in terms of menu choices and decor.  This particular restaurant The 6IX Bar & Grill was not successful and was not open for very long as far as I can tell.  The earliest review I could find was from January of last year and most of the reviews were not positive.  In April of the same year, the restaurant suffered from a fire in the overnight hours and by the time it was extinguished it had received significant fire and smoke damage.  I visited the location twice after its forced closure and spent a few hours each time trying to capture the feel and mood of the location. Several weeks after my visits the restaurant was demolished and now sits as an empty lot up for sale.
